Nossa história
Olá! Meu nome é Roy e juntamente com a minha esposa, Amazonenese, nós construímos o hotel de selva Anavilhanas Village Jungle Lodge. Meus pais são britânicos e Hindu e mudaram-se para Manaus, Brasil, quando eu era jovem. Eu cresci na Amazônia e trabalhei em muitos hoteis de selva, bem como trabalhei muitos anos como um Guia de Turismo.
Durante uma das minhas viagens guiadas à floresta tropical, eu conheci uma mulher bonita da aldeia Bela Vista. Nós nos casamos e ela concordou em deixar a floresta e vir comigo para Manaus, capital do Amazonas, 80 km de distância. Sua família lhe deu faixa de terra ao lado de sua aldeia natal na reserva natural de Anavilhanas. Nosso sonho sempre foi ter um pequeno hotel para acolher hóspedes e tivemos a sorte de obter permissão para construir o nosso eco lodge no Parque Nacional de Anavilhanas e assim voltamos para cá.
Acreditamos que, ao trazer o turismo para a comunidade de Bela Vista e arredores, vamos ser capazes de fornecer alguns empregos tão necessários, renda e estabilidade para os moradores nativos da região, preservando ao mesmo tempo a maravilha natural única das Anavilhanas de forma sustentável.
Our history
Hello! My name is Roy and together with my wife, from Amazonas, we have built the Anavilhanas Village jungle lodge. My parents are British and Hindu respectively and moved to Manaus, Brazil when I was young. I grew up in the Amazon and worked in many jungle hotel, as well as many years as a tour guide.
During one of my guided trips of the rain forest, I met a beautiful girl from the Bella Vista village. We got married and she agreed to leave the forrest and come with me to Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas, 80km away. Her family gave her strip of land next to her native village in the Anavilhanas nature reserve. It has always been our dream to have a unique, little hotel and host guests and we have been lucky to get permission to build our eco lodge in the nature reserve. So we bring back here.
We believe that by bringing tourism to the village and surrounding area, we will be able to provide some much-needed jobs, incomes and stability to the native villagers in the area, while preserving the unique natural wonder of the Anavilhanas in a sustainable manner.
